Bemidji Wrestling Falls to Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale/Parkers Prairie at Last Home Meet of Season

QUEEN APPLIANCES.>>>AND NOW YOUR LOCAL SPORTS WITH CHAZ MOOTZ. >>Chaz: AFTER REACHING THE WRESTLING TEAM STATE TOURNAMENT LAST YEAR FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2011, THIS YEAR’S BEMIDJI WRESTLING TEAM HAS MADE IT A MISSION TO MAKE IT BACK TO STATE. THE LUMBERJACKS HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL SO FAR, BOASTING A 25-7 RECORD AND THEY’LL BE A TWO SEED IN THE SECTION PLAYOFFS, MOST LIKELY MEETING UP WITH THEIR RECENT RIVAL WILLMAR. BUT FIRST, BEMIDJI HOSTED THEIR FINAL HOME MEET TONIGHT. JACKS ARE JUST OUTSIDE THE RANKINGS. THEY FACED BERTHA-HEWITT, VERNDALE, AND PARKERS PRAIRIE. IN THE 1AA CLASS, A BIG PIN OVER OLSON. THAT GIVES THE RAIDERS A LEAD. A COUPLE MATCHES LATER, CALEB BARR WITH A BIG TAKEDOWN AND AFTER A STRUGGLE, HE GETS A PIN. THAT PUTS THE JACKS UP AND SETS UP A SHOWDOWN IN CLASS 1A AND CLASS 3 A. UP EARLY WITH THE TWO-POINT PIN AND THAT IT DOES. HE GETS A 10-1 MAJOR DECISION OVER SMITH AND THE RAIDERS SPOIL THE LUMBERJACKS SENIOR NIGHT. AN EXCITING MATCH TO WATCH TONIGHT. FINAL SCORE 31-29. BENT PADDLE IS BACK AT HOME NEXT — BEMIDJI IS BACK HOME
